County Veteran Service Offices – Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs
The mission of the County Veteran Service Offices is to assist veterans and their dependents in securing all entitled benefits and to advocate for veterans’ interests in the community.
Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Benefits and Services
The Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs advocates on behalf of Florida’s 1.5 million veterans by ensuring they receive benefits and resources earned through their service to our country. More than one-third of veterans do not receive benefits, even though they have earned them. With the help of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs, these servicemembers are connected with needed information and resources.
Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Women Veterans
Florida is home to more than 165,000 women veterans, the second largest population of women veterans in the nation. Many women veterans are not aware of the federal and state benefits that they are eligible for, including specific programs for them. To learn about federal benefits, click here.

The mission of the Department of Economic Opportunity Veterans Program is to provide and promote employment opportunities for Florida’s veterans.
Florida Military-Friendly Guide
The Florida Military-Friendly Guide provides Florida’s military community with programs and benefits available to servicemembers and their families.
The Florida Veterans Foundation (FVF) advocates on behalf of Florida’s veterans to ensure they have access to healthcare, education, jobs and their benefits. Many of the members of FVF are retired servicemembers who are well-trained on the rules and regulations that pertain to veterans. FVF partners with service organizations to provide financial, educational, employment and social support to help veterans get back on their feet and into society.
The mission of Student Veterans of America is to provide veterans with resources, support and advocate on behalf of veterans to ensure their success in higher education.
Tallahassee Veterans Legal Collaborative
The Tallahassee Veterans Legal Collaborative provides veterans access to free legal services.
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Discharge Upgrade Tool
Answer a series of questions to get customized step-by-step instructions on how to apply for a discharge upgrade or correction. If your application goes through and your discharge is upgraded, you'll be eligible for the VA benefits you earned during your period of service.
