UNION AMERICAN INSURANCE COMPANY

Union American Insurance Company ("Union American") is a Florida domestic property and casualty insurance company. On February 9, 2005, Union American was placed into receivership for the purpose of rehabilitation by order of the Second Judicial Circuit Court in and for Leon County, Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services is the court appointed Receiver of Union American. Union American consented to be placed into rehabilitation in order for the Department to better assist the company in meeting its statutory and other obligations.

On March 11, 2014, Union American was placed into receivership for the purpose of liquidation by order of the Second Judicial Circuit Court in and for Leon County, Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services is the court appointed Receiver of Union American. There were no active polices at the time of liquidation.

On September 16, 2015, the Receiver made a distribution of $510,459.44 to FWCIGA, the sole Class 1 & 2 claimant, representing 100% of the adjudicated amount recommended for Class 1 claims and 48.0403% of the amount recommended for Class 2. This was the only distribution made during the life of the estate. On September 15, 2015, the Order Approving Receiver’s Discharge Accounting Statement, Directing Final Discharge, and Authorizing Destruction of Obsolete Records was entered into by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida, discharging the Receiver from any and all duties, obligations and liabilities in the administration of the Union American Insurance Company estate as of 11:59 P.M. on September 30, 2015.
