Online Quarterly Preneed Remittance System

You may have recently received a notice regarding the new online PNRS system now available through eAppoint. For further instructions on how to use this new system, we have created manual user guides for Servicing Agents and Appointing Entities for further reference and use.

Consumers, Licensees, and Applicants should visit our website to:

  • Read and view consumer help information and consumer videos to ensure that you are adequately informed before purchasing preneed funeral or burial goods or services

  • File a complaint against a deathcare industry licensee


The Division of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services protects death care industry consumers purchasing preneed burial rights as well as those purchasing funeral and burial merchandise or services.  It also oversees licensed establishments, facilities, and cemetery grounds by conducting annual inspections.

The Division has established qualifications for professions and occupations in the death care industry. These professions and occupations include but are not limited to funeral directing, embalming, preneed sales and monument sales. Furthermore, the Division ensures death care professionals maintain their qualifications through continuing education courses and licensure renewal. Lastly, The Division ensures effective discipline for those licensees who have violated the law.

The death of a loved one is a traumatic event and often forces families to make funeral and burial decisions quickly. By visiting this website, consumers will be able to learn more about the industry and will then be able to make more informed choices that best fit their needs during this difficult time.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to license qualified professionals and entities in the death care industry, regulate the activities of those licensees, provide timely and accurate information regarding the death care industry, and continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal processes. In this way, the Division delivers value to the citizens of Florida and protects death care industry consumers during times of potential significant emotional distress.

Sept. 12, 2018, Public Workshop to Discuss Matters Regarding Chapter 497, Florida Statutes

The next Public Workshop will be held on September 12, 2018, from 1-5 p.m. at the following location:

During the Aug. 2 workshop, a number of attendees expressed interest in submitting written comments on items which were discussed and/or topics which they would like to see addressed at the upcoming public workshops. For this reason, we are accepting written comments regarding discussion topics through close of business on Thursday, August 16, 2018. Please direct your written comments, if any, via email to the attention of Mary Schwantes, Division Director at: mary.schwantes@myfloridacfo.com.



Please be advised that the initial renewal packets that were mailed out contained a misprint of the renewal deadline date as of July 1, 2018. The correct renewal deadline date is April 1, 2018. The Division will be mailing out revised renewal packets to Licensees correcting this misprint. All preneed renewal packets are due back to the Division by no later than April 1, 2018.
