CFO COVID-19 DIRECTIVES

CFO Directive 20-01: Relating to travel insurance and ensuring rules relating to the transaction of insurance allow insurance agents to telework. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-02: Ensures that hospitals and medical facilities can safely erect temporary medical facilities and gives temporary health facilities first priority for fire safety inspections and certification to facilitate rapid expansion of Florida’s inpatient bed capacity, if needed. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-03: Provides guidance for State Fire Marshal licensees, including firesafety inspectors, fire service instructors, fire protection system contractors, and firefighters. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-04: Provides guidance for deathcare industry licensees, including cemeteries and pre-need licensees. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-05: Directs the DFS Division of Risk Management to provide workers’ compensation coverage for frontline state employees, while allowing individual agency heads to opt-out of these provisions. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-06: Suspends employer penalty payments and reinstatement of stop-work penalty orders issued by the Division of Workers’ Compensation. The Directive also suspends strict compliance with the requirement that workers’ compensation insurers mail informational brochures pursuant to 440.185(3), and allows such insurers deliver the brochures by other means such as email of facsimile transfer. CFO Directive 20-07: Permits certain insurance agent licensure applicants to obtain temporary licenses while insurance-agent examining centers remain closed due to COVID-19, provided additional supervisory and assumption of liability parameters are satisfied. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-08: CFO Directive 2020-08 provides regulatory flexibility consistent with public health goals to licensees regulated by Chapter 497, F.S. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-09: CFO Directive 2020-09 affords flexibility to licensees by extending CFO Directive 2020-01 until Executive Order 20-52 expires. CFO Directive 2020-01 suspended enforcement of sections 626.7352 and 626.7354(4), Florida Statutes, which prohibit Customer Representatives from transacting insurance outside the office of an Agent or Agency. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-10: CFO Directive 2020-10 conforms the Department’s enforcement activity with respect to title insurance data calls to the revised filing deadline put forth by the Internal Revenue Service. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-11: CFO Directive 2020-11 extends the license renewal deadline of any Firesafety Inspector or holder of a Fire Service Instructor Certificate from May 31, 2020, provided in CFO Directive 2020-03, to on or before September 30, 2020. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-12: CFO Directive 2020-12 relieves certain requirements of Florida licensure for individuals who are active, out-of-state licensed deathcare professionals to enable these individuals to perform services in Florida. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-13: CFO Directive 2020-13 provides Florida K-12 schools with flexibility to conduct required fire safety drills while implementing social-distancing procedures. The Directive will help students and educators practice fire safety protocols while minimizing infection risks associated with large gatherings. Expired - June 26, 2021

CFO Directive 20-14: CFO Directive 2020-14 bans the downloading and use of the application “TikTok” on DFS devices and within DFS facilities.
