Supporting and Serving Florida's Developmental Disabilities Community

In honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we would like to do our part in helping to provide individuals with developmental disabilities the tools needed to live fulfilling and independent lives. Our My Money financial literacy program was designed to educate individuals with developmental disabilities about financial skills that include identifying types of money, distinguishing needs versus wants, writing a check, budgeting and more. The site also provides important resources for family members and caregivers to assist them with finding the support services they need. We encourage you to visit the program site, and share it with anyone who you think could benefit from it.

Florida Women's History

Pictured from left to right: Zora Neale Hurston (Folklorist, anthropologist, and author), Janet Reno (Former Attorney General of the United States), Mary McLeod Bethune (Civil rights leader), Jacqueline Cochran (Aviator), Carrie P. Meek (United States House of Representatives) and Betty Mae Tiger Jumper (First female chief of Seminole Tribe of Florida).

Each year we take some time during March to celebrate the various accomplishments and contributions that women have made throughout history. Women have struggled through much adversity and have fought for their right to help shape our nation. CFO Jimmy Patronis wants to encourage women of all ages to continue to break barriers as they work tirelessly to achieve their goals and inspire future generations. We are proud to say that each of the women pictured above are members of the Florida Women’s Hall of Fame. They each trail blazed a path in Florida history and we thank them for all they have contributed to our State.
