Florida Outpaces the Nation
This week, I was pleased to report that Florida’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) outpaced the rest of the country, and that the wave of people moving to the Sunshine State have added more than $23 billion in Adjusted Gross Income to our state’s economy. Looking at these numbers, it shows why these poorly managed states like California are having to resort to ridiculous marketing gimmicks to try and rein in our growth. Florida’s GDP outpaced the nation by almost a full percent, and a lot of this is being driven by people leaving these poorly managed states to come here. Read the full economic report here.
On Thursday, I highlighted the Department of Financial Services’ (DFS) returning more than $15 million to Florida Holocaust survivors during the Fiscal Year 2021-2022. Florida holds one of the largest Jewish populations in the country and it’s important that we take every opportunity to reunite survivors and their heirs with items that were stolen from them during the holocaust.
Lastly, this week I provided tips for how to protect Florida’s Service Members from fraud and scams. Florida is one of the most military friendly states in the country, and that’s because we are committed to protecting these heroes. I encourage all of our military members to review all of the important consumer protection tips, and to report signs of fraud immediately.
Sincerely,
