This week, I issued a statement on the U.S. Labor Department's report that inflation hit 9.1% in June, another four-decade high. This is horrible for our country. It is a tax on the poor, the middle class, and the elderly, who live on fixed incomes. Our President is simply incapable of dealing with the biggest problems our country is facing. Now everyone is having to turn to dictatorships for fuel and food. As the saying goes, ‘When America sneezes, the world catches a cold.’”

Today, I was able to provide an update on the progress of the two new property insurance fraud squads that I deployed along I-4 last year. Our state faces an epidemic of insurance fraud and I’m excited that, in just 12 months, these two units have opened nearly 200 fraud cases resulting in $300,000 in court ordered restitution. This is tremendous progress in just one year to protect insurance consumers from fraud and help combat rate increases statewide. 

On Monday, I announced that the Florida Division of Treasury earned $412.4 Million in interest during the 2021-22 Fiscal Year. The interest generated is a huge savings to Florida taxpayers and ensures that our state has financial resources critical to supporting our health care system, law enforcement, schools, and our transportation network without costing you a dime.
