Honoring Florida's First Responders
This week, we honored Florida's firefighters and fire service community during the Florida Fire Service Day at the Florida Capitol. Florida firefighters and fire professionals work every day to keep our communities safe, leaving their own families behind to protect others. It's not just a job, it's a calling and the State of Florida is so happy they answer this call. We don't have good schools, a good economy, and an amazing quality of life in our state without these first responders working around the clock to protect us. As State Fire Marshal, I've seen firsthand their heroic efforts in our state's greatest times of need and cannot thank these heroes enough for their service.

On Tuesday, I testified in support of Senate Bill 1098 during the State appropriation Committee on Agriculture, Environment, and General Government. Following the alarming findings at the Marion Graham Mortuary in Jacksonville, my team immediately began working with our legislative partners to amend our DFS agency bill and give the state enhanced oversight over the deathcare industry. When a family member passes, Floridan's must be able to rest assured their loved ones are treated with the utmost dignity and respect. No one in our state should go through what these families had to endure, and we will do everything in our power to ensure this never happens in Florida again.
Sincerely,

Great visit today with some amazing students from Citrus County! I was happy to share insight with these future leaders on how the CFO’s Office supports them and their communities every day. Thanks for visiting the Florida Capitol! pic.twitter.com/exwhmLDjJl
