JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — CFO and State Fire Marshal Jeff Atwater honored the winners of the Florida Fire Service Awards during a reception hosted yesterday evening at the Florida Capitol. Among the winners was Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Jacksonville Field Office’s Special Agent Jeffrey Brown who was announced as winner of the Fire Investigator of the Year Award. The annual awards ceremony is held to reward and honor those in the fire service community who have shown excellence in their profession.

Special Agent Brown boasts a 32-year career in law enforcement, 26 of which have been with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives where he has cultivated a passion for Fire and Explosives Investigation and Training. As Special Agent Brown’s career reached its pinnacle, he turned his attention to training and equipping his fellow fire investigators with the knowledge he acquired over his three decades of service. Very few fire investigators have achieved the longevity of Special Agent Brown’s career as a fire investigator throughout the state.

Special Agent Brown was nominated by the Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association.
