PENSACOLA-Two arrests have been made in reference to the early morning fire that gutted a section of Brownsville Middle School on Monday.
A joint investigation between the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office led to the arrests Thursday of two boys, 14 and 15, after a Crime Stoppers tip led officers to make contact with the suspects. Both suspects admitted their involvement in the crime. Evidence was also collected linking both suspects to the case.
Both suspects were charged with first-degree arson, burglary with damage in excess of $100,000, and grand theft over $1,000.  Both suspects are being held in the Escambia Juvenile Detention Facility.
The Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations is the law enforcement branch of the Division of the State Fire Marshal that assists other state and local agencies in the investigation of fires of suspicious origin.  The bureau conducts about 7,000 investigations annually. Anyone with information about this fire or any suspicious fire can call the Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations at 1-877-NOARSON (1-877-662-7766).
