Reward Offered for Information in Hollywood Fires

11/12/2002

HOLLYWOOD, FL - Up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for two recent fires in Hollywood - one that burned a four-story office building early Monday morning and one at a storage yard on Halloween that destroyed several buses and other vehicles. The fires caused nearly $1 million in damage.

A task force that includes the State Fire Marshal's Office and the City of Hollywood police and fire departments is investigating the Halloween fire, and is joined by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in investigating Monday's office building fire.

The office building is located at 3900 Hollywood Blvd. That fire was reported to the State Fire Marshal's office just after 5 a.m. on Monday. The Halloween fire occurred at 3818 S.W. 30th Ave. Investigators have determined that both fires were the result of arson.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Frank Carry of the Hollywood Police Department at 954-967-4411 or Arson Control toll-free at 1-877-662-7766.
