Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia Awards Nearly $700,000 to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Other Law Enforcement Agencies for Immigration Enforcement
TITUSVILLE, Fla.- Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia awarded nearly $700,000 to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies in Florida to reimburse immigration enforcement efforts. Other law enforcement agencies awarded today are the Indialantic Police Department and the City of Cocoa Beach Police Department.
Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia said, “Florida law enforcement continues to raise the bar for immigration enforcement in our country. Their tireless work protects our communities by keeping criminal illegal aliens off of our streets. We will continue to work alongside President Trump and Governor DeSantis to secure our border and end the illegal immigration crisis.”
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said, “Our deputies are working each and every day to remove criminal illegal aliens that have crossed our borders illegally and caused harm to our Floridians. I want to thank CFO Ingoglia and the State Board of Immigration Enforcement for providing us with crucial funding to enhance our capabilities to fight back against the detrimental impacts of illegal immigration.”
Florida law enforcement agencies that apply for reimbursement are awarded funding by the State Board of Immigration Enforcement. Under the 287 (g) agreement, state and local law enforcement can partner with ICE to assist with immigration enforcement.
As part of the Florida Cabinet, CFO Ingoglia is a member of the State Board of Immigration Enforcement. Other members include Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General James Uthmeier, and Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson.
Funds awarded to Florida law enforcement agencies by the State Board of Immigration Enforcement today:
- Brevard County Sheriff’s Office- $577,021.44
- City of Cocoa Beach Police Department- $99,515.50
- Indialantic Police Department- $15,102.50
