Statement from CFO Blaise Ingoglia Regarding Today’s State Board of Immigration Enforcement Meeting
TALLAHASSEE,
Fla. — Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia
presided over his first State Board of Immigration Enforcement (SBIE) meeting
and applauded the Board’s combined efforts, as well as those of local law
enforcement leaders from around the state. SBIE was established in February to
enhance illegal immigration enforcement and involves a nation-leading
partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
SBIE
members include Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General James Uthmeier, CFO
Blaise Ingoglia, and Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson.
CFO
Blaise Ingoglia said, “I’m honored to serve as a member of Florida’s State
Board of Immigration Enforcement, and I fully recognize the critical nature of
our mission. America has been overrun with illegal immigration due to pathetic
leadership from the previous administration in Washington, D.C. Millions
illegally crossed our southern border, alien criminals have committed savage
crimes, and countless billions of taxpayer dollars have been abused. However,
it’s a new era, marked by the presence of President Trump in the White House
and Governor DeSantis taking the lead on enforcement here at home. As a Board
member, I was pleased to approve rules today in support of local law
enforcement and reimburse them for their immigration enforcement efforts. My commitment
is to the safety and financial well-being of Floridians, and I’m deeply
grateful for our federal, state, and local law enforcement heroes as they serve
on the front lines of our shared mission.”
