CFO Jimmy Patronis Applauds Signing of DFS Agency Legislation
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis applauds Governor Ron DeSantis for signing House Bill 487, Department of Financial Services, by Senator Nick DeCiglie and Representative Michelle Salzman. This legislation provides measures to allow for firefighters’ charitable donations by creating a Direct Support Organization (DSO) to support financial efforts to protect their communities and provide life-saving equipment and resources.
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “Thank you to Governor DeSantis for singing this important bill that bolsters the services of the Department of Financial Services. This bill provides our firefighters the resources and support they need to protect Floridians and keep them safe. As Florida’s State Fire Marshal, I have made it one of my top priorities to ensure our fire service professionals are well equipped and prepared to act at moment’s notice while ensuring they have tools needed to protect themselves from dangerous carcinogens found in the field. A huge thank you to Senator DiCeglie and Representative Salzman for championing this great piece of legislation.”
