Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis announced the arrest of Anita Jovic on charges of Organized Scheme to Defraud, Unlawful Use of a Two Way Communication Device, False and Fraudulent Insurance Claims, and Uttering a Forged Instrument for her alleged involvement in a $30,000 liability insurance fraud scheme.

Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued a statement following the passage of House Bill 507 by Representative Toby Overdorf in the House Ways and Means Committee. Last year, the CFO announced he would work to pass legislation to fight back against the IRS from hiring 87,000 new personnel through an $80 billion appropriation of taxpayer money from the Inflation Reduction Act that President Biden signed into law last August. House Bill 507 comprises CFO Patronis’ four pillars to stop the IRS money grab and outlined HERE.

Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis addressed the Citizens Property Insurance Corp. Board of Governor’s meeting. At the meeting, the CFO announced he is designating Florida’s Insurance Consumer Advocate Tasha Carter as the Department’s Hurricane Ian Chief Recovery Director to help streamline Hurricane Ian claims. He also announced the Department will hold another insurance village in Southwest Florida in mid-April.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued a statement following the passage of House Bill 3 by Representative Bob Rommel in the Florida House of Representatives. House Bill 3 prohibits financial institutions from discriminating against consumers for their beliefs, barring the consideration of "ESG Credit Scores;” and permanently prohibiting SBA fund managers from considering ESG factors when investing the state's money.

Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis announced the arrest of John Sutton on charges including Filing a False and Fraudulent Insurance Claim, Grand Theft, Unlicensed Contracting, and Failure to Obtain Workers Compensation coverage for allegedly conducting an unlicensed roof replacement scheme to defraud homeowners out of more than $41,000 in insurance claims.
