Community Risk Reduction
Community Risk Reduction (CRR) is a strategic process designed to minimize local risks. It begins with identifying and prioritizing these risks, followed by the creation and execution of targeted plans that integrate emergency response and prevention efforts. This structured, data-driven approach ensures resources are allocated effectively to address the most critical risks. CRR is not just a name change for fire prevention; it integrates proactive planning, collaboration, and community involvement on top of prevention and emergency response. By integrating all the protection strategies, it fosters a comprehensive, long-term approach that helps communities become safer and more resilient.
The Community Risk Reduction section supports Florida’s fire departments in this process to better prepare their local communities and enhance safety, health, and resilience across the state.
One of the goals of the Division of State Fire Marshal is to create a repository or warehouse of CRR resources, as well as provide a way to share and celebrate some of the incredible efforts by departments across the state. If you want to share an accomplishment or resource or can't find what you're looking for - let us know!
