REGULATORY LICENSING
The Regulatory Licensing Section is responsible for enforcing all laws relating to the licensing and regulation of the following industries: Fire Equipment, Engineered Fire Protection Systems, Explosives and Sparklers.
With this responsibility, the section issues licenses and certificates to all companies and individuals engaged in business in this state as:
- Fire Equipment Dealers and Service Technicians
- Fire Protection System Contractors & Water Based Inspectors
- Explosive Manufacturers, Dealers, Users and Blasters
- Construction Mining Industry.
- Sparklers
In addition, this section also registers firms and individuals who manufacture, distribute and sell (wholesale and retail) sparklers which have been approved by the State Fire Marshal.

**Notice: Fire Protection Contractor License Renewals**
Applications for Fire Protection Contractor licenses are being processed for the 2024-2026 renewal period. The Bureau processes renewals in the order in which they are received. We are currently processing renewals as quickly as possible. If confirmation of renewal payment has been received, Chapter 633.332 of Florida Statute states, the license shall be restored to operational upon payment of the proper renewal fee, if the application for renewal was made on or before September 30th.
If you are having difficulties in pulling permits from your city or county department, please have someone from the appropriate department contact the Regulatory Licensing Section at (850) 413-3610, and a Bureau staff member will verify that your company’s name, that a renewal has been submitted and your licenses are currently active with the State of Florida.
