If you're driving in Florida, it's mandatory to have auto insurance, but that doesn't always mean your insurance company is there when you need them.
There's been a trend of insurance companies delaying or sometimes denying claims.

NBC2 learned that when you're unhappy with how long an insurance claim is taking to process, you can actually file a complaint with Florida's Division of Consumer Services.
"I think it is beneficial for the customers to take that," said Bob McHenry with the Insurance Experts Network.
"It also helps the Department of Financial Services track complaints."
Searching the three biggest auto insurers in Florida, NBC2 found 25 complaints about claim-handling delays.
"I think this is very few quite frankly," McHenry said.
One reason the number is low is likely because consumers don't know they can make a complaint, but once you do contact Consumer Services, a specialist will contact the insurance company on your behalf.
