NICEVILLE, Fla. – The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office believes that a recent Niceville fire was intentionally set and is looking to the community for information.  On August 4th, the Niceville Fire Department responded to a fire at the closed hotel attached to the old Tisa’s Pizzaria located at 626 W. John Sims Parkway in Niceville and requested the assistance of the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The hotel and restaurant have been closed for years and have recently been occupied by homeless transients. It was recently purchased and within hours of the new owner cutting off power and water to the property, a fire broke out. No injuries were reported, but the initial review of the scene led arson investigators to believe that the fire was intentionally set. Damages are estimated at $150,000.

This investigation remains open and ongoing. If a resident has information or wishes to report an arson-related crime in Florida, call the Arson Tip Hotline 1-877-NO-ARSON.
