MIAMI, Fla. – Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater will participate in the National Day of Civic Hacking on Saturday, June 6 by issuing a challenge to the Florida brigades of Code for America, a national nonprofit that works to forge public-private partnerships to improve the way governments communicate with and provide public information to consumers. CFO Atwater has challenged local Code for America brigades in Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville to repackage existing vendor payment data from raw spreadsheets into an intuitive web application that makes it easier to understand how the state spends taxpayer dollars.

To launch Saturday’s National Day of Civic Hacking “hackathon,” CFO Atwater will join with the Code for Miami brigade for a press conference highlighting the importance of this first-of-its-kind partnership in Florida.
