SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. – The Florida Department of Financial Services’ Division of State Fire Marshal today announced the arrest of 35-year-old Lauris Brown for setting a car fire in Silver Springs on February 9, 2015. An investigation discovered Brown purchased a plastic gas can and two gallons of gas following the argument with her ex-boyfriend. Shortly after purchasing the gas, she returned to his home, set his new girlfriend’s car on fire and fled the scene. The ex-boyfriend and a neighbor witnessed Brown igniting the vehicle.
