Insurance Agent Surrenders License after Guilty Plea

CONTACT: Justin Glover

COCONUT CREEK-An area insurance agent has surrendered his license after pleading guilty to securities fraud, according to the Department of Financial Services.

Investigators with the department discovered that Daniel Alan Camm, 35, 5005 Heron Place, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of securities fraud last year. Camm failed to disclose to the department his guilty plea and subsequent sentencing.

As part of a settlement with the department, Camm surrendered his insurance license to the department. Camm had been licensed as a life, health and variable annuities agent since January 1995.

The Department of Financial Services investigates allegations of improper conduct by licensed agents and those posing as agents. Questions about agents or insurance policies may be directed to the department's toll-free help line at 1-800-342-2762.
