Cape Coral Condominium Fire Determined to Be Arson

CAPE CORAL – A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible for a fire this morning at the Sea Spray Condominiums.
Arson investigators with the State Fire Marshal's Office determined the fire was intentionally set in an attempt to cover up a burglary to the garages and vehicles inside. Damage to vehicles and the building, located at 1333 S.E. 40 Terrace, was estimated at $150,000.
No residents were injured, but a firefighter with the Cape Coral Fire Department suffered a broken arm.

The Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations is a law enforcement branch of the Division of the State Fire Marshal that assists other state and local agencies in the investigation of fires of suspicious origin. The bureau conducts about 7,000 investigations annually.
