Business Fire Determined to Be Arson

ORLANDO - A fire that destroyed Carefree Landscaping, 7409 Hoffner Avenue, Sunday night has been determined to be an act of arson.

When firefighters arrived on scene yesterday, the building was engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported, but the fire caused an estimated $275,000 in structural and content damage.

The fire investigation conducted by the Bureau of Fire and Arson investigations revealed evidence that the business was burglarized prior to the fire. A company truck was also stolen and was later recovered burned in Lake County.

Further investigation continues by Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations and the Orange County Sheriff's Office into the circumstances of the fire.

The Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations is a law enforcement branch of the Division of the State Fire Marshal that assists other state and local agencies in the investigation of fires of suspicious origin. A reward of up to $2500 is offered in connection with this fire. Anyone with information should call the Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations at (407) 897-2892, 24 hours a day.
