Floridians,

On Monday, I joined Governor Ron DeSantis for the signing of House Bill 1, Combatting Public Disorder. As citizens and businesses flee states like California and New York for sunny Florida, the Governor has fired off another message to the rest of the world that Florida will put the safety of its citizens first and foremost.

We’ve watched cities like Portland, New York, Seattle and Chicago burn because politicians turned their backs on law enforcement. Luckily, Governor DeSantis’s Florida is different from the Portland’s of the world because we love and appreciate our law enforcement community. This law makes it clear that civil protests are not the same as violent destruction, and we’re thankful to the Governor and Legislature for putting this common sense idea into action.

I’m excited that today, April 23rd, is the start of our Unclaimed Property Online Auction. Featured items in this year’s auction include collectible coins, gold coins, collectible currency, silver, gold, and miscellaneous items such as sports cards, including Ken Griffey Jr. and Mickey Mantle. Since taking office in 2017, I’m proud to have returned more than $1.2 billion in unclaimed property back to the pockets of Floridians. It only takes a few minutes to search to see if you, your family, or your business has Unclaimed Property in Florida. I’m encouraging all citizens, in Florida and throughout our country, to search now at FLTreasureHunt.gov.

Lastly, this week, I hosted ‘Victory for Florida’s Health Care Heroes’ events in Jacksonville and Lauderhill to celebrate the recent passage of Senate Bill 72, which provided vital liability protections for Florida’s health care workers and long-term care personnel. No doubt, this was the single most important piece of legislation in our state and a huge milestone for businesses and health care workers who no longer have to live in fear of frivolous COVID-19 litigation. I can’t thank our Governor, Senator Brandes and Representative McClure enough for stepping up for our health care heroes and passing and signing Senate Bill 72. Thanks to Governor DeSantis’ leadership, Florida has vaccinated over 3.5 million seniors

Sincerely,

Jimmy
