My Florida C F O
Weekly eNewsletter from Florida's Chief Financial Officer

Dear Fellow Floridian:

Tomorrow I’m going to take some time to reflect, as I’m sure you will, on things that we are most grateful for in our lives. This year I’m particularly thankful for the opportunity to serve my fellow Floridians as Florida’s Chief Financial Officer. This has truly been an exciting year for me and I’ve enjoyed every challenge. I’m also grateful for the team of employees here at the Department of Financial Services who are dedicated to public service - working for you.

Thanksgiving is a day for us to be thankful for the blessings that we have, even during tough economic times when many of Florida’s families are struggling financially and facing hardships. As Americans, we still have plenty to be thankful for. The freedom we cherish is because of the sacrifices that are being made by our troops overseas. These brave women and men risk their lives every day so that we can enjoy the blessings that we have been afforded: our safety, our security, the ability just to spend time with our family and our friends.

With the holidays just around the corner, and our important faith traditions that we’ll be celebrating as well, I encourage everyone to take time to thank those who are serving in our military and remember their families who are here at home, also making an incredible sacrifice.

I am looking forward to spending time with my family this Thanksgiving and I hope that each of you will have the opportunity to do the same. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
