**PHOTO RELEASE** CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis Tours Site of Chabad of Tallahassee Fire with Israeli Consulate
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis toured the site of the Chabad of Tallahassee fire with Israeli Consul General Maor Elbaz-Starinsky and Rabbi Schneur Oirechman. CFO’s Division of Investigative and Forensic Services (DIFS) is currently conducting a comprehensive fire investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “I was humbled today to give Israeli Consul General Maor Elbaz-Starinsky a tour of the site of the Chabad of Tallahassee and FSU that was tragically devastated by a massive fire just a few weeks ago. It’s truly painful to see the complete destruction a fire of this magnitude can cause but I’m thankful that no one was hurt in this blaze. While my fire investigators have been working diligently to determine the final cause of the fire, preliminary investigations suggest this fire was accidental in nature. Thank you to the Consul General and Rabbi Oirechman for their support in the face of this heartbreaking disaster. The bonds between Israel and Florida run deep and we are here to support the Jewish community in Tallahassee and at FSU as they continue to recover.”
