Self-Insurers

The Self-Insurance section is responsible for regulating employers who elect to individually self-insure for workers' compensation benefits. Self-insureds can be categorized as either governmental or private self-insured employers. The Section actively regulates governmental self-insured employers and contracts with the Florida Self-Insurers Guaranty Association (FSIGA) to co-regulate private self-insured employers. The laws, rules, and requirements are unique for each type of self-insured employer.
