Agent Information

When will I receive an Agent Notice?

Agent Notices have been mailed. Copies of the Notices are available in the Related Documents section.

What is my responsibility to the policyholders?

Section 631.341(2), Florida Statutes requires that agents send by certified mail or registered mail to the last known address of any policyholder a written notice of the insurer’s insolvency before the court-ordered cancellation date of the policies, which is September 23, 2009.

Will my earned commission claim be paid by the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association?

No. Agents’ earned commission claims are general creditor claims and are not covered by FIGA but may be filed as claims in the receivership estate. There may not be sufficient assets to pay this priority of claims; however, you must file a proof of claim form to have your claims considered.

How do I obtain a loss run so I can work with the insured to obtain alternative coverage?

If you need to obtain a loss run, you should contact the Receiver using the "Contact Us" Form or by calling (800) 882-3054.

In order to assist the FCIC/FCTPIC policyholders, the Receiver has entered into an agreement with Ascendant Commercial Insurance, Inc., ("Ascendant"), whereby Ascendant will provide an offer of replacement insurance coverage to most of the FCIC/FCTPIC policyholders. Ascendant will offer a new policy of insurance to all current FCIC/FCTPIC Florida policyholders except for those with auto service warranty, commercial multi-peril, medical malpractice, monoline commercial automobile or errors and omissions coverage. For more information regarding this offer, please call Ascendant Commercial Insurance, Inc.’s consumer service hotline at (305) 820-4360.
