Appointments through NIPR will not be processed March 26-April 5
Due to computer system upgrades March 26-April 5, 2010, we were not able to accept any appointments through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). During this time, information in the NAIC’s Producer Database (PDB) was not updated. All non-resident applications for licensure were processed as usual.

Proposed Rules for Federal Immigration Bonds
We are proposing rules to clarify that a general lines agent license is required to transact federal immigration bonds. No other license is needed. Additionally, the rules state an agent holding only a limited surety (bail bond) agent license may not transact federal immigration bonds. The rules further specify that a general lines agent may not transact bail bonds unless he or she also holds a limited surety agent license and appointment. If requested, a hearing will be held on April 13, 2010.
