that an officer charged unlawful agency fees for property and
casualty insurance services.
Disposition:
Probation for 12 months and a $1,750 fine.

An investigation of an automobile warranty agency was conducted on allegations
that it placed misleading advertising and failed to
fully disclose in boldface-type the name, address, and license number of
the service agreement company.
Disposition:
$1,500 fine and required compliance for all future advertisements.
Case: An
investigation of a life, health and variable annuity, and general
lines agent was conducted on allegations he submitted homeowner's insurance
applications to an insurer containing fraudulent information, failed to appoint
a customer representative in his employ, and failed to provide a change of
business address to the Department.
Disposition:
Suspension for 18 months, cease and desist from
any further fraudulent activity, among other requirements.
Case: An
administrative
complaint was filed against a surplus and general lines agent alleging, among
other things, she failed to pay taxes, assessments and fees to the Florida
Surplus Lines Service Office.
Disposition: Probation for 24 months, $750
fine, and payment to the Florida
Surplus Lines Service Office of over $5,000.
Case: An
administrative complaint was filed against a general lines agent alleging she misappropriated fiduciary funds.
Disposition: Suspension for 6 months, restitution of almost $6,000, and
probation for 24 months upon reinstatement of her license.
