Notice of Receivership of Southern Eagle Insurance Company for Rehabilitation

On December 6, 2011, Southern Eagle Insurance Company ("SEIC") was ordered into receivership for purposes of rehabilitation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services is the court appointed Receiver of SEIC.

SEIC is a property and casualty insurance company which was licensed in Florida in 2005. Located in Bradenton, Florida, the company wrote workers' compensation insurance coverage. SEIC has 29 policyholders and about 270 open claims. Over 90% of the company's business comes from an affiliated professional employer organization (PEO).

SEIC stopped writing new and renewal insurance coverage on or about November 22, 2011 upon the direction of the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. The company's existing policies are not cancelled by the rehabilitation order and will continue in the ordinary course of business. During rehabilitation, the Receiver will continue to receive and review claims.

Consumer/Claim Calls:

Until further notice, consumers with questions regarding SEIC should contact the company directly at 1-877-746-2209 (Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). Consumers wishing to file a new claim or inquire about the status of a pending claim with SEIC should also contact that phone number.

For any other non-claims related questions, consumers are asked to contact the Receiver by using the "Contact Us" form at the Receiver's website, www.myfloridacfo.com/Division/Receiver or call the Florida Department of Financial Services, as Receiver, at 1-800-882-3054 or (850) 413-3081.
