SUBJECT:  Contract and Grant Manager Training

The Bureau of Auditing has been providing Contract and Grant Manger training to personnel from state agencies over the past two years.  Best Practices are presented for crucial areas of the contract and grant administration process.  Emphasis is placed on areas of weakness revealed through post-audits, and expanded pre-audits conducted by the Bureau.  We look forward to continuing this training effort in 2005. 

The training was developed in the “ train the trainer” format and consists of seven elements: Planning, Procurement/Selection, Price/Cost Analyses, Agreements, Monitoring, Payments and Close Out.  Key agency contract/grant managers and those who are responsible for establishing policies and procedures for the administration of contracts and grants are strongly encouraged to attend.

The 2005 training sessions will be held on January 11, February 9, March 9, April 6, May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14, and October 12.  Each session will be from 9 AM to 3 PM in the Betty Easley Conference Center.  Employees may sign up for the sessions by contacting Suzette Harris at 410-9314, Suncom 210-9314, or  Suzette.Harris@fldfs.com.
