Florida Insurance Consumer Advocate Champions Passage
of Balance Billing Legislation
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Discussions surrounding legislation to put an end to balance billing continued until the final hours of the 2016 Legislative Session. Ultimately, the Legislature successfully passed the measure and effectively placed a ban on surprise medical billing in Florida. Florida Insurance Consumer Advocate, Sha’Ron James, a longtime supporter of consumer-focused solutions to this medical billing problem, released a statement in support of the legislature’s decision.
