Palm Beach County is set to collect $3.4 million in disaster relief funds for costs associated with Hurricane Matthew.
Commissioners are expected to finalize the agreement Tuesday. Although Matthew spared South Florida serious damage, Palm Beach County officials say they incurred costs placing the emergency operations center on the highest level of alertness.
Fifteen counties on Florida's East Coast qualified for federal disaster assistance. Palm Beach County is the southernmost county that is eligible, according to a county analysis.
