It is important to note that a case must be closed before a report can be released.
If you have a case number, you can verify the status of the case by clicking "Case Status" on our homepage. If you do not have a case number, the records technician will verify the information for you and advise if the records are available for release at the time of your request.
In order to ensure we provide you with the most accurate response, please include the following information with your request:
• Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations Case Number (if known)
• Date of Fire or Explosion
• Owner/Occupant of Property
• Address of Fire
• Requestor’s Address (if records will be mailed)
• Requestor’s E-mail Address (if records will be forwarded electronically)
Please contact the Division of Investigative & Forensic Services to request a copy of all closed reports. Please specify in your request if additional documents or photographs are needed and an invoice for reproduction of records will be sent prior to release. Certified copies may be provided for an additional fee.
