RE: Member Notice Regarding Florida Healthcare Plus, Inc.’s (FHCP) Notice of Receivership
Please see attached letter from the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Rehabilitation and Liquidation which provides consumer guidance regarding Florida Healthcare Plus, Inc.’s receivership process. FHCP was recently ordered into receivership for purposes of rehabilitation, with an automatic liquidation effective at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2015. FHCP members have continued health care coverage with the company until January 1, 2015. If members do not select an alternative health coverage plan before January 1st, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will automatically enroll them into original fee-for-service Medicare with a prescription drug plan.
The Department encourages all FHCP members to contact 1-800-MEDICARE or a licensed insurance agent to discuss their individual coverage options.
