TALLAHASSEE—Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater’s Division of Consumer Services will offer free webinars to support Florida’s small businesses.  The webinars, entitled “How to Write a Winning Business Plan,” will be offered Dec. 12-15, through CFO Atwater’s new Your Money Matter$ Web site.

“A strong business plan is a key component to any successful business and acts as a roadmap to future success and a measuring stick for gauging results,” said CFO Jeff Atwater.  “Studies show that as many as 80 percent of businesses don’t have a business plan, which speaks to the need for this kind of critical training that provides the financial foundation businesses need to succeed.”

CFO Atwater’s Your Money Matter$ financial education initiative offers tools, along with online training and education, to allow the user to participate in an interactive financial education environment.  Frequent updates and additional resources will be added on a regular basis, so users are encouraged to visit regularly for new video presentations and training updates.

Webinar partners include Access Florida Finance and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

Each year, Access Florida Finance sponsors a Business Plan Writing contest.  Webinar participants are encouraged to enter their newly written business plan in the contest as a way to receive comments and feedback.

Webinar registration can be found online at www.MyFloridaCFO.com/YMM and anyone with questions can contact the Consumer Helpline at 1-877-My-FL-CFO (1-877-693-5236).
