FIRE INVESTIGATOR I REFERENCE MATERIALS

To receive the Fire Investigator I Certificate of Competency, the applicant must submit the required Application for Testing (Form DFS-K4-1438), the current processing fee (Form DFS-K-1019), the Personal Inquiry Waiver (Form DFS-K4-1020) and documentation of successful completion of the following courses:

• Chemistry of Hazardous Materials (Meyer) (3rd edition)
• Private Fire Protection & Detection Systems (2nd edition) (IFSTA)
• Building Construction for the Fire Service (3rd edition) (Francis L. Brannigan)
• Fire Investigation (Kirk) (5th edition)
