The Fire Service uses many types of trucks besides pumpers and ladder trucks. Most are for special needs such as those used for fighting brush and grass fires.
Large pumpers cannot go into woodland and grassy areas because they will get bogged down so lighter, more maneuverable trucks are used fight these fires.
There are also trucks that have a combination of features and may be be used as both pumper and aerials ladder trucks, trucks for handling hazardous materials, trucks that are used as mobile command post and a wide variety of other specialized trucks.
