Hook -Pike Pole

With the invention of the steam engine it wasn’t long before all kind of things were adapted to become motorized and self propelled.  First came the railroad locomotive, then steam boats and the came the steam fire pumper.  But the self propelled fire engine didn’t appear until the late 1800’s when the steam fire pumper was adapted to be also propelled by the the same engine that drove the pump.
