The Running Spill Fire. Sometimes a flammable liquid, such as gasoline, leaks from a tank or pipe. When it catches on fire the liquid fumes on the ground and in the air start to burn. The fire then follows the liquid back to the tank. Here a firefighter learns how to put out a moving flammable liquid fire. He must put out the fire and keep it from starting over again. It takes special training to do this. If the fire extinguisher is not started at the right place, or is not the right type, the fire could get worse. |
