Friendship Custom Brush Truck

This 1989 custom built 350 Ford brush truck belongs to the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department of Marion County, Fl.  It is a 4 wheel drive vehicle and has the capability of driving into remote areas of the county to extinguish brush and grass fires.

If you look at the front of the truck you will see a short length of hose.  This hose permits one of the firefighters to walk along side the pumper while spraying the water on small fires in front or to the side of the truck.

FVFD Brush Rear

The bed of the brush truck carries a 250 gallon water tank and a Hale 250 GPM Pony pump.  The pump supplies 100 feet of rubber booster hose mounted on a reel over the tank.  The truck also carries 250 feet of 1 1/2 inch fire hose for quick attacks on other small fires.  This is about a 5 minute supply of water at 50 gallons per minute.
