Firefighter One Competency Certification
The Firefighter I Training Program, which includes NFPA Firefighter I and Florida specific requirements, consists of a minimum of 206-hours of training. It is the basic certification level of training and competency for all individuals performing firefighting duties in the hot zone in the State of Florida. An individual who holds a Florida Firefighter I Certificate of Competency may be allowed to enter the Firefighter Minimum Standards Course at the start of the Firefighter II training, if permissible by the Certified Training Center. Please refer to Firefighter II for additional information.
