Superior Insurance Company ("Superior") is a Florida property and casualty insurer and a subsidiary of Superior Insurance Group (“SIG”). Superior was placed in receivership for purposes of rehabilitation on August 29, 2003. Superior is the sole owner of one subsidiary insurance company, Superior Guaranty Insurance Company. The Florida Department of Financial Services, as the court appointed Receiver of Superior is managing the company. The company is licensed in Florida and several other states. The records of the company are currently located in Tallahassee, Florida.
