On July 1, 2004, the Second Judicial Circuit Court, Leon County, Florida ("Court"), signed a Consent Order placing New America Insurance Company ("New America") in receivership for purposes of rehabilitation. The Florida Department of Financial Services is the court appointed Receiver of New America. New America consented to be placed into rehabilitation in order for the Department to better assist the company in meeting its statutory and other obligations. The company previously wrote homeowners and dwelling fire insurance coverage.
On November 30, 2010, the Court issued an Order that discharged the Florida Department of Financial Services of its duties as Receiver of New America effective December 31, 2010.
Pursuant to the Discharge Order, all undelivered distributions were sent to the
Department of Financial Services, Bureau of Unclaimed Property. The Bureau of Unclaimed
