If you are in the Jacksonville area next Saturday, September 17, I would like to invite you to the annual Florida Unclaimed Property Auction at the Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra.

The auction is an annual sale of items from unclaimed safe deposit boxes turned over to the state. Auction items include jewelry, coins, gold, silver, antiques, watches, and more over 37,000 lots in all. A preview of items will be held on Friday, September 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The auction is a great annual event, but ideally we would like to reunite Floridians with their lost property and funds. My Bureau of Unclaimed Property currently holds more than $1 billion in unclaimed property.
