K-9 EMBER. End of Watch: 10-26-2015 RIP, Faithful Friend
"To effectively prevent, discourage, investigate and prosecute arson and arson-related crimes for the protection of Florida citizens and their property."
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Accelerant Detection K-9 Ember. K-9 Ember’s partner was the Bureau of Fire and Arson ADC Team Commander Captain Ross Holt.
K-9 Ember was 11 years old and faithfully served the citizens of Florida from 2007 to 2015. K-9 Ember was still active and working until her passing. The members of the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Arson K-9 Unit and the Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations will miss her greatly.
The Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations is the statewide law enforcement branch of the Division, which is responsible for conducting fire, arson, and explosives investigations as well as other associated crimes. The Bureau was originally established in 1973 as part of the Office of State Fire Marshal and was formed for the purposes of the “Suppression of arson and the investigation of the cause, origin, and circumstances of fire.”
