Florida Fire Prevention Code

The Florida Fire Prevention Code is adopted by the State Fire Marshal at three year intervals as required by Chapter 633.202, Florida Statutes. This complex set of fire code provisions are enforced by the local fire official within each county, municipality, and special fire district in the state. The county, municipality or special district in which you reside may also have local amendments applicable only to your community.

*Note* There was a printing error resulting in a discrepancy in the editions of some of the referenced standards listed in NFPA 101 of the 5th Edition of the FFPC. An errata is in the process of being published reflecting the correct editions. Until it is issued, please refer to Rule 69A-60.005 for the correct editions.

Sixth Edition Adoption Proceedings

The State Fire Marshal is now seeking written comments and proposals for Florida specific amendments to NFPA 1 and 101 (2015 editions). The comment period ends July 1, 2016 at 5:00 pm. You may submit your proposal by completing the proposal form and following the submittal directions outlined on the form.

 

The Florida Fire Code Advisory Council will be meeting on January 20, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center, Room 104A, 101 North Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida. Access the Florida Administrative Register advertisement here

Local Amendments to the Florida Fire Prevention Code

Interested persons can seek and receive an informal non-binding opinion on requests involving questions related to the Florida Fire Prevention Code through the FFMIA
