Reciprocating States

Life including Variable Annuity and/or Health Applicants for Resident Licensure

Licensure as a life/health insurance agent in another state that reciprocates with Florida exempts an applicant from the educational requirement (40-hour life/health agent qualification course); it does NOT exempt an applicant from having to take and pass the applicable exam(s) unless the applicant holds the CLU designation.

All-Lines Adjusters for Nonresident Licensure (Non-Public)

Licensure as a resident or nonresident all-lines adjuster in another state (regardless of either independent or company) that reciprocates with Florida exempts an applicant from the Florida examination. Please view the list below to see if you hold an adjuster license in a state that will exempt you from the nonresident all-lines adjuster Florida examination. Exemption does not apply to nonresident public all-lines adjusters, who are required to take the Florida examination.

Title Agent and Agency Licensure

Surplus Lines Applicants for Nonresident Licensure

Florida law requires that in order for a nonresident surplus lines agent to obtain a license in Florida, the applicant must hold a surplus lines license in his/her home state (where they live or have a principal place of business).

A person who took and passed a surplus lines license examination in his/her home state will NOT be required to take a Florida surplus lines license examination to obtain a Florida nonresident surplus lines agent license.
